History:

The seed for Western States Continuing Education began with the bizarre psychological treatment of airplane crash survivor, Terisa Greenan. Dr. Richard Licea, under the guidance and supervision of Dr. James Lapan, provided care to the distressed patient.

Dr. Licea’s slow decent into madness became the topic of Dr. Lapan’s best selling book. Dr. Licea’s murder trial was the inspiration for Western States Continuing Education. Dr. Lapan knew the professional community would benefit from the lessons of this tragic case. He created Western States Continuing Education so that others could learn from Dr. Licea’s suffering.
